About Us

We have been in the reed business since 1870. The company originated in 1870 when reeds were first cut as a side income, in addition to farming.

In the meantime, we have become not only the largest, but also the most versatile reed trade in Western Europe. Not only can we supply all types of reeds from our own country, but also from the rest of Europe, Asia and South Africa, mostly from stock. This also applies to all other thatch supplies, such as binding wire, rods, screws, tools, frost tiles, end pieces, ridge heather, spreader mats, scaffolding rope and a very exclusive own series of roof windows.

Now many years later we have become the largest and most versatile reed trade in probably the whole world. And in addition, we are a supplier of natural partitions and many types of natural mats that all find their way to various garden centers throughout the Netherlands and even beyond.

Jos is at the helm with his sons Jan and Girbe van Rees. Together with our team of motivated employees we are still a friendly family business where the coffee is always ready for you.
